York LGBT History Month

York LGBT History Month logo with a pink triangle on a black background.

February is LGBT History Month – an opportunity to reflect and celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, achievements and progress over time, and explore what the lessons of history can teach us for the future.

In 2022, York Pride saved York LGBT History month from disappearing as the charity was on the brink of collapse.

In 2025, to fulfil a full schedule of events we have taken a collaborative approach with a range of York LGBT+ charities, businesses and organisations.

York LGBT History Month 2025: Call for Events!

We are excited to be teaming up with York LGBT Forum, Generate, York RI Templars, The Portal Bookshop, QueerArts and York St John University students to celebrate York LGBT History Month 2025 this February!

This year, our theme is Activism and Social Change, honouring the incredible power of collective action in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and equality.

We’re inviting YOU to contribute to this vibrant celebration! Whether it’s a talk, performance, workshop, exhibition, or something entirely new, we’d love to include your event in our programme.
